Staff Weekly Update
10/29/19 It's a Great Day to Do Something Great!
Good Things
- Shout out to all the teachers and staff that assisted with Trunk or Treat. I really appreciate you filling in the gap in my absence.
- Every class met the mark of bringing in at least 10 bags of candy with many exceeding that mark. While one was identified as the winner every class deserves the recognition of meeting the goal.

New Twitter Challenge
TWITTER CHALLENGE
We are ready to start our next Twitter challenge. Our focus is on Collaborator; we are asking teachers to try a strategy in their classroom and document it on Twitter.
Each Sunday, I will select a tip and post it on Twitter.
On Monday PLC facilitators will communicate the focus for the week and throughout the week the teachers will post pictures and videos that support the tip of the week.
To win the Twitter Challenge your PLC must have the greatest percentage of PLC members tweeting. There will be weekly PLC winners by level(two at elementary, one middle and one high). So, as an example, if there are 8 members of a second grade PLC and all 8 try the strategy and tweet about it, they would win the weekly prize. It is NOT about quantity(although it is always great to see posts daily), it is about the percentage of teachers tweeting.
Please be sure to use your building hashtag (#gretchko2020, #whbs2020, etc) and #lakerlab.
The first tip will be shared this Sunday, November 3rd. This challenge will end just before winter break. Principals can win too--the buildings with the highest percentage of staff tweeting will win a fabulous prize at the end!!!! There will be more than one winner; encourage your staff to participate and you should too!
Here is a preview of the first tip coming November 3:

Message from Susie Engleheart
Just a reminder that when you input your data into illuminate for your At-Risk students please use the assessment 2019-2020 Fall At Risk F&P. If you refer to the literacy assessment plan you will see there is a column called "Illuminate Naming Conventions" and it states the specific assessment you should be inputting scores into.
You will input the rest of your class in the assessment called 2019-2020 Fall F&P by November 13th. Any questions please let me know.
