Please use the following guidelines when submitting events for the Campus Events Newsletter:
All events should be submitted to www.knox.edu/addevent. If you would like an image included, please upload it when submitting your event online. In order to ensure your event is included in the newsletter, please complete your submission at least one week prior to the Monday Newsletter you would like your event to appear in. Earlier submissions are encouraged!

5th Annual PrairieFire Fest

On Monday, April 1, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Prairie Fire Athletics invite the entire Knox community (students, faculty, and staff) to the 5th Annual PrairieFire Fest on the South Lawn of Old Main from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. There will be carnival-style events and activities sponsored by each of our intercollegiate teams and all participants win fun prizes!
This event is sponsored by the student-athletes for the entire Knox community in recognition of National D3 Week, a time designated by the NCAA to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on campus and in our community. We hope you will join us!
Bike Shop Open Workshop

Knox College Bike Shop
Come to the bike shop on the first Monday of each month for an open workshop. You can learn about the topic of the month, get help fixing or adjusting your own bike, use our tools, or just hang out.
Cowboy Bebop Viewing Event

Anime Club presents a viewing of the first few episodes of Cowboy Bebop.
The Bebop crew is just trying to make a buck. This motley lot of intergalactic loners teams up to track down fugitives and turn them in for cold hard cash. Spike is a hero whose cool façade hides a dark and deadly past. The pilot Jet is a bruiser of a brute who can’t wait to collect the next bounty. Faye Valentine is a femme fatale prone to breaking hearts and separating fools from their money. Along for the ride are the brilliant, but weird, hacker Ed and a super-genius Welsh Corgi named Ein.

Gabor Bojar, the founder of AIT-Budapest, will be at Knox all day today, meeting with Start-Up Term students and speaking about entrepreneurship and software engineering, as well as the prestigious AIT-Budapest computer science study abroad program he created (which is on the Knox pre-approved list for study abroad!).
You are most welcome to join Gabor for his presentation at 1:30. (And you are also most welcome to come to the info session about AIT study abroad at 4:30 in Wallenberg, Alumni Hall (AH 217)!

AIT Budapest: Computer Science Study Abroad Program

Computer Science and Math people! Want to study computer science in Hungary? Interested in study abroad but uncertain about finding a program that fits your major in computer science? Join the founder of AIT-Budapest, Gabor Bojar, for an information session about the AIT program. Pizza will be provided!
Why AIT? The program is selective and entirely focused on computer science, with small and highly interactive classes offered in English. Courses beyond computer science are also available. Budapest is a beautiful location for this intensive study program.
Gabor Bojar will also provide a talk for students and faculty on "Software Engineering: What Works and What Doesn't in Launching a Software Company" at 1:30 in the Trustees Room, Alumni Hall. Everyone is welcome to both the talk and the info session!

Escaping the Syrian Conflict, Advocating for Refugees: Roundtable Conversation with Mariela Shaker

Everyone is welcome to this roundtable about the intersection of political action and advocacy and the arts.
Mariela Shaker grew up in Aleppo, Syria. She studied business and violin performance at Aleppo University, fleeing the violence of civil war in Syria in 2013 and completing her education in the States (with a graduate degree in violin performance from DePaul in 2016).
Join us to talk about Mariela's experience the conflict in Syria, the work of IIE and other non-governmental organizations responding to the crisis, and about how to get involved with the UNHCR and other organizations in order to take effective action to help create positive change.
