Reading!
This week we have been talking about lessons or messages in our books. We made a chart that had different lessons or messages at the top. Then, students put a post-it note under the lesson or message they had in one of their books. A lot of students said the message in their book was never give up!
May Goals!
May goals were written by each student on a flower pattern. Then, the flowers were cut out and hung in the classroom.
Favorite Fruit!
Students are learning how to measure and graph in math class. We were voting for our favorite fruit and pineapple was definitely the winner!!
Band Concert!
Students listened to 5th and 6th graders (mostly 6th) play musical instruments. The band students were students from schools around the district!
Listening to the awesome concert!
We definitely enjoyed listening to the band. We even learned a few new instruments!
Cookie Monster!!!
At the end of the band concert, Cookie Monster made a surprise visit to Goodrich!
Mindful Practice
Students were drawing their feelings using emojis!
Phonics
One student from each table picked a word from a baggie. Then, the rest of the table wrote the word that they thought it was on their white boards. Each of the students was able to take a few turns acting out the words. It was a blast!
Doggy Bag
1.Students need to keep reading and taking AR tests (at their level) to meet their reading goal.
2. There are no extra clothes in the office if your child gets muddy at recess.
A note from Ms. Mulay:
May 10th is my last day student teaching. I am so grateful to have worked with such amazing students for the past sixteen weeks. I have learned so much from your children and they put a smile on my face every single day. Words cannot describe how thankful I have been for everything during this experience. Since I will not be here at the end of the school year, I would like to wish everyone a great summer!
