Strings
Our concert is April 30th at 6 pm (call time 5:30). An after school dress rehearsal will happen April 29th from 3-5. I'm so proud of how hard this group has worked!! As a reminder concert dress is a white top, black pants/skirt (skirt needs to be to the knees when sitting down), and black shoes. Jeans and sneakers are not acceptable concert dress.
Art
The 6th grade Art Focus class have been working on kinetic wind sculptures in small groups. We learned about design and how to think about the problem, brainstorm solutions, create a prototype to test our designs, and then once we created a successful design, we began to make our kinetic (or moving) wind sculpture. Students had unique and creative solutions to creating wind sculptures!
Creative Writing
Creative Writers will be sharing some poetry creations we've worked on in class with their peers. If you have a writer this nine weeks, ask him/her about their haiku program and their bio poem video!
Science
The students will finish their weather booklets and Green Dot Challenge assignments. Our schedule will be determined by SC PASS Testing.
Social Studies
Students will continue their study of Native American people. They will work in groups to present information to classmates.

Now, we are jumping over to the UK for some history of good ol' Elizabethan theatre and William Shakespeare! Students will be introduced to the life and times of Elizabethan London, Shakespeare's life, an overview of his dramatic and literary contributions, and even do a bit of soliloquizing before the year ends!
