March on Washington
On March 3rd, 1913, the National American Women Suffrage Association and Alice Paul hosted a march on Washington the day before Woodrow Wilson's inauguration. The peaceful march was indentured when members of the crowd assaulted and taunted the marchers. Because of the actions by the police the Washington police chief was dismissed shortly after.

Seven years after this event was hosted, the 19th amendment was passed. The 19th amendment denied the government the right to denied someone the power to vote based on sex. Susan B. Anthony was the one who origanly drafted the bill.
