Dear Alamo Families,

Student placement is a thoughtful process involving time and input from parents/guardians, classroom teachers, other school staff, and the principal. The placement team (including the current teacher and potential future teachers, principal, special education team, and school counselor) reviews academic progress, interpersonal relationships, gender, medical needs, and specialized instruction.

Our goal is to build classes that ensure the best learning environment for all students. For this reason, parent requests to place or not place their student with a specific teacher are NOT accepted nor used as criteria for class placement. Please note that we will NOT consider parent recommendations to place specific students together in classes or separate certain students. These decisions are made by school staff only. We work hard to balance classrooms and place students appropriately, knowing their academic and social strengths and other unique characteristics.

If you are interested in participating in this process, please complete this form by Friday, May 6, 2022. Parents who have emailed me with input for next year's placement must complete this form for consideration.

Every teacher works hard to know and understand the children in their classrooms. We work closely with families to support any needs or issues that arise, consistently placing the best interests of our students first.

We appreciate you!

Respectfully,

Principal Salazar
