Parent Place October Edition
A Newsletter for parents @ Columbus First Assembly
Yea!!!
My big announcement this month is the Women's bathroom in the basement now has a changing station. If your Pre-School child has an accident you will no longer have to go back upstairs to change them. Woot Woot!
The first Saturday of October our Junior Bible Quiz team will be heading off to Grace Assembly in Greenwood for our first match. If you think of it please pray for them. Your first match can be kind of stressful. Asher Stidam and Addison Swanson have been working hard learning their questions.
The Kids Dock will not be meeting on September 29th. The children will be in the service. PreSchool and Nursery will be meeting.

In October the children will cover the stories of Esther, the Firey Furnance and Daniel in the lion's den. To close out October we will begin a 4-week lesson that starts with A for Attitude. This will allow us to do a lesson after Thanksgiving about Praising God for your family. Helping the children to focus on something they can be thankful for.

The Kids Dock!
This month the children will learn that the Holy Spirit will help them pray and will also guide them. We will have a very special video for them called "Change for a Dollar." I found this on YouTube years ago. In it, your child will see how God can take 1 dollar and change many people's lives if you will let the Holy Spirit guide you. One of the first things Mary asked me about the Holy Spirit lessons, was, 'When are you showing them Change For a Dollar?" That will be October 6th.
Here are the five new questions for October.
Quote the verse that says the Holy Spirit will guide us.
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. John 16:13
Name two people who were guided by the Holy Spirit? Paul and Phillip.
How were Paul and Phillip guided by the Spirit? The Spirit told Paul not to go to a certain country and He told Phillip to go talk with the Ethiopian Treasurer.
Romans 8:26 tells us what about the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit helps us pray.
Why does the Holy Spirit need to help us pray? According to Romans 8:26, we don’t know how to pray as we should.
These 5 questions will be carried over from September.
