Big News from Mrs. Ellsworth
Dear Parents,
I have accepted the position as Director of Federal Programs for the Mat-Su School District. My last day at Snowshoe Elementary will be June 1, 2018. It is expected that a new principal will be selected by the end of the month. The timeline and process is posted on our website and included in this newsletter.
I cannot thank you enough for all the support you have shown the school and me in an effort to make great things happen for kids!
Snowshoe Elementary thrives because of the caring community, dedicated parents, outstanding staff and wonderful children. It is truly an amazing school and I feel fortunate to have worked here.
Warm Regards,
Mrs. EllsworthHiring Process for New Principal

5th Grade Rose Ceremony & Awards
WOW! It's hard to believe our 5th graders will be moving on to middle school next year! We will be hosting a promotion ceremony on Friday, May 18th beginning at 1:30 p.m. Parents, extended family, and friends can go directly to the gym and take a seat. You'll want to bring your cameras for this very special assembly.
We've had a great year with these 5th graders and they have grown so much! These kids have taken on greater responsibilities within their classrooms and the school as a whole. Many of them have done announcements in the morning, hung our school flag, mentored younger students with reading, and delivered end of the day bus changes to classrooms. We will miss all of them and wish them the very best of luck next year!

Don't Forget to Register!
FALL REGISTRATION BEGINS JUNE 4, 2018
ALL students need to be registered through iParent for the new fall school year. You can access the iParent link very easily by going to our website at matsuk12.us/sse and scrolling down to the icon. You will need your iParent login to begin.
If you do not have an account, you'll need to set one up by clicking "I haven't registered yet". This allows you to register for an iParent account.
If you have forgotten your password and already have an account, simply click "I forgot my password". The IT department will send you directions on how to reset your password.
School Dismissal Manager
So, if you are already using it... thank you! If you are not using it, now is a really great time to begin. The benefits to this is that we are here now to help you work out any user issues you may have with getting set-up with your account, login issues, and answering questions you may have about its features. We urge you to just jump in and don't be afraid. We have a laptop available in the front office set up now to assist. Please take advantage of it. We'll also have some help documents available on our site shortcut tab on our Snowshoe website.
Next fall, we will be requiring you to make the change to using School Dismissal Manager. Some of you may feel as though you're not the most technologically advanced, but this program is extremely user friendly and we're confident you won't find it difficult. Most, if not all, of the schools are using this valuable tool to take control and be in charge of how your child gets home safely.

NEW SCHOOL RECORD!
He broke the record for the most pull-ups in gym and beat our previous record holder by 11! That is a big accomplishment and well worth the recognition! Mrs. Westcott was very impressed and proud of him for setting a new school record with 40 pull-ups!
