Message from Mrs. Rodgers
We hope you are embracing the spring season and all the bright, joyful things that come with it!
I challenge you all this month to talk with your students about what they couldn't do at the beginning of the year and are now successful with; then also talk about what they haven't accomplished YET! Help them set goals and reorganize their plans to get there. We have plenty of school year left for our amazing Cardinals to reach those goals and show their highest potential! Focus our directions and thoughts on what our kiddos CAN do and what they WILL do. Remember, they just haven't learned it YET.

STAAR DATES
Summer Learning Program
Krahn will be hosting a Summer Learning Program. Invitations to this program are based on performance on our district benchmark assessment(s), NWEA MAP assessments, as well as general classwork and teacher recommendation in grades 3 and 4 only.
In conjunction with the above qualifications, should your student not reach the “approaches” level on the STAAR Reading or STAAR Math assessments(s), the hours earned in this program can be used to fulfill the requirements of Texas House Bill 4545. Students who do not pass or are absent from testing, will be required to receive 30 hours of intensified instruction prior to the end of the following school year.
By attending this program, this helps ensure that your student is able to get a head start on the remediation they may be required to have, as well as work to close instructional gaps to reach grade level mastery.
At Krahn, we will be hosting a Summer Learning Program for upcoming 4th and 5th-grade students June 5-8 and June 12-15. This 8-day program will run 8:00am-12:00pm. Transportation will be available for those who regularly qualify.
Invitations will be sent home April/May for students who would meet the qualifications for the Summer Learning Program.
