Understanding In-Person & Remote Learning at Sprague

From August 25 through September 30 all students will attend school remotely.

Students in Grades 1 and 2 will be assigned to a grade level triad. In this triad will be 1 teacher who is the in-person teacher, 1 teacher who will always remain remote, and one associate. This model will create classes that have 3 educators with approximately 36 students.

The remote schedule will be the schedule for all students while we are all learning remotely. The students who have opted for remote learning until January, 2021 will remain on this schedule.

Students will have opportunities that are both synchronous and asynchronous.

The daily learning schedule would model a traditional bell schedule such as is described below for a Monday through Friday remote schedule:

When In-Person Learning Resumes

Once in-person students return to school they will follow a similar schedule as described above.

The District altered the in-person learning plan to a 5-day in-person learning environment for Sprague students. First- and second-grade students will be assigned to 1 teacher with 10-12 students in a classroom. Students will sit at desks that are six-feet apart and students will stay within the classrooms not rotating through the school. There will be opportunities for mask breaks outside the school and students will receive their Art, Music, Library Instruction within the classroom. PE will occur outside when appropriate but will not occur inside the gym.

Kindergarten students will return to kindergarten on an AM/PM schedule. There will be 10-12 students in the AM classes and 10-12 students in the PM classes. Students will sit at desks that are six-feet apart and students will stay within the classrooms not rotating through the rooms. There will be opportunities for mask breaks outside the school and students will receive their Art, Music, Library Instruction within the classroom. PE will occur outside when appropriate but will not occur inside the gyms.

Early Childhood students will return to school and remain on their AM or PM schedule. They will have approximately 10 students in their room and will socially distance in a play-based model but will not sit in desks. Tables will have plexiglass and toys will not be shared.
