JSE Monthly Attributes

Characteristic of a Successful Learner (CSL): Act Responsibly

Bucket-Filling Trait: Kindness

It's a Marvelous Monday on a Tuesday at JSE

Happy Tuesday JSE Families,

We hope you had a restful weekend and spent some family time out in the snow! Students and staff returned today rejuvenated and inspired to work hard this next fruitful stretch of learning weeks until spring break.

Our students started the morning recalling our focus from the NED presentation: Never give-up, Encourage Others, and Do your best! Another way to reinforce of our monthly attributes.

Tomorrow we take part in the 2016 Digital Learning Day, stay tuned for pictures.

We hope to see you at the free elementary fitness event this Friday at WHS. Details below.

As always thank you for being our partners in education,

Leigh Barnes

Principal

3rd-5th Grade: ISTEP+ Information

Students in grades 3-5 will soon be taking ISTEP+ Part I - Applied Skills for English Language Arts and Math. In addition, 4th Graders will take Science and 5th Graders will take Social Studies. This portion of ISTEP+ testing window is February 29 through March 11. A specific schedule for your child's class will be shared by your child's teacher. We continue to focus on academic growth for all students and view ISTEPs as another source of information to guide future instruction and promote successful learners.

Please be sure your child eats a nutritious breakfast each morning and gets plenty of sleep each night to help them perform their best on the test. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us. Attendance is extremely important during the upcoming weeks and on days of testing.

ISTEP+ Online Experience

You can find additional information and resources to help support your child through Experience Online at the IDOE website. The purpose of Experience is for students, educators, parents, and community members to see how test items similar to those on the ISTEP+assessment are presented in the online system. You can access this website through the following link:
