BSMS Parent Newsletter

March 23- March 27

Week 3 Packets

Teachers are currently pulling resources for Week 3. These packets are primarily for students who do not have access to the internet regularly, have a broken device/lost charger, or for parents who just feel more at ease with their students working from paper and pencil. These assignments mirror what is on your teacher's webpage, Google Classroom, and Haiku.

Week 3 Packets will be available for pickup beginning Thursday, March 27th at 11:00 a.m. We will run a pickup time from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm for these packets. These packets will cover material for the week of March 30-April 3.

School Of Choice Deadline Approaching

The application for 2020 School of Choice Program is now open. This year, all returning students and new applicants must fill out an online form to request continued enrollment at BSMS for the STEAM Program. Next year, there will be no year-round calendar at BSMS.

Please visit the Granville County Public School’s main web page to access the online form. There is a block that says SCHOOL CHOICE, then Choose “2020 Choice Application and Commitment Statement”.

There is not a paper application this year, so the form must be completed online. If you need assistance with completing the application, please reach out to Mrs. Clark through email at application deadline is March 31st.

3rd Quarter Nine Weeks Ends March 27th

The end of the 3rd Nine Weeks ends on Friday, March 27th. Please encourage your child to submit missed/make-up assignments by March 27th at 9:00 a.m. This will give our teachers the necessary time to grade these assignments before the quarter ends.

BSMS Teachers are checking their email and remind accounts daily. We want to make sure that all students end the 3rd Quarter strong. If you have any questions on how to get in touch with a teacher, please contact the school at 919-575-9429, or email Mrs. Clark @

BSMS Family Check In Link

I am sure that with the most recent information about schools being closed for in-person instruction through May 15th, you are probably feeling overwhelmed and anxious. We are all just as heartbroken with these updates.

As the principal of BSMS, I am asking you to please stay positive and calm for your children. Assure them that they are safe and that learning will continue. Granville County Public Schools is working on an equitable plan for continued learning that will be released later this week.

In the meantime, please respond to the questions below to let us know how your family is doing and if you need anything. Please hang in there! We miss our Falcons!
