Happy National Assistant Principals Week to Mrs. Wilson

This week is National Assistant Principals Week and we are so very thankful that Mrs. Wilson chose BSMS. She is an awesome educator and loves being a Falcon! We can not thank her enough for all she does for the staff and students at BSMS.

Week 4 Packets

Teachers have resources ready for Week 4 either in the form of a packet or online. Packets are primarily for students who do not have access to the internet regularly, have a broken device/lost charger, or for parents who just feel more at ease with their students working from paper and pencil. These assignments mirror what is on your teacher's webpage, Google Classroom, and Haiku. Please stop by and pick up a packet for your child.

Check In Daily with your Teachers

BSMS Teachers are checking their email and remind accounts daily. We want to make sure that all students have what they need at home daily. Please email them if you need anything!

I am including email addresses below for all teachers below:

BSMS Family Check In Link

I am sure that with the most recent information about schools being closed for in-person instruction through May 15th, you are probably feeling overwhelmed and anxious. We are all just as heartbroken with these updates.

As the principal of BSMS, I am asking you to please stay positive and calm for your children. Assure them that they are safe and that learning will continue. Granville County Public Schools is working on an equitable plan for continued learning that will be released later this week.

In the meantime, please respond to the questions below to let us know how your family is doing and if you need anything. Please hang in there! We miss our Falcons!

Please fill out the link below and let us know how you are doing! As of today, we have had 60 families to complete the form. We want to hear from everyone!

Phone Calls from BSMS Staff

Please be aware that many of our staff members are using Google Voice and restricting their numbers when they reach out to families. If you continue to receive phone calls that show "No Caller ID" or a strange area code it is most likely a BSMS School Employee trying to contact you. We are doing our best to reach out to every student! Please answer if at all possible.

Parents do you need help with Google Classroom?

This guide will help you with Google Classroom!

Backpack Buddies

We are so grateful that ACIM donated 100 BackPack Buddies lunch baggies to BSMS. We will be sharing these during packet pickup times and on an as-needed basis. Please reach out to Mrs. Clark or Mrs. Ward if you would like one weekly!

Self-Serve Packet Pick-up

BSMS has a new self-serve packet pickup option for our families! We created this in the event your hours do not always align with the Thursday pickup times. Grade levels are labeled and everything is organized by traditional and year-round teams. We have also added a container for backpack buddies, supplies, and personal hygiene bags for females. Come by and get what you need.

Report Cards

Report cards for 3rd Quarter will be mailed home on Thursday, April 9th for all students.

BSMS now has IXL

Did you know that every student at BSMS has IXL? Math teachers sent every student login information. This platform is something every student can do on their own. It allows students to gain fluency and confidence in math! IXL helps students master essential skills at their own pace through fun and interactive questions, built in support, and motivating awards.

Connected Sessions with Teachers

This week your child's teacher will be hosting online sessions with students to prepare for sessions that begin on April 20th. Teachers will take this time to explain to students how new learning will work after Spring Break. Please make sure your child checks their email daily.
