Why did the Egyptians build the pyramids in the shape of a triangle? Well, some archaeologists believed that the ancient Egyptians built pyramids in the shape of a triangle to allow the spirit of the pharaoh to climb to the sky. They also said that the sloping sides represent the suns rays. There was another theory that said a triangle was the easiest shape to build or that it represents a burial mound. How did they do it?
The pyramids were built by the Egyptians who were said to have a type of sled that would be full of damp sand and the Egyptians would bring the sled to the pyramid for construction. It was said that dampening the sand at the front of the sled would reduce friction to make it easier to move around. Some experimenting was done and adding water to the sand increased its stiffness so it would be easier to move through the sand. Researchers found out that the sand had to be at a certain stiffness or it would not work for building a pyramid. This is how the Egyptians built the pyramids.
