Mrs. Murray's Class

October 19- October 23

the week in review

Your Kids Were Amazing Mathematicians This Past Week

We got into a math groove this week and your kids were great! They were sad when math ended and some kids asked if they could do math during FIT time-- who could say no to that? Amazing!

Reader's Workshop This Past Week

Ask you kids what strategies they use for tricky words when reading.

Writer's Workshop This Past Week

Ask your kids about the writing process, and where they are in the story they are working on now. We are in the drafting process on a narrative where we don't worry about spelling and punctuation because we want to keep the flow of our ideas moving.

Science This Past Week

We finished sound by understanding that the length of a string on an instrument of the length of a xylophone effects the sound. We began an investigation of rolling motion vs. spinning motion.
