Principal's Pride
I would like to acknowledge Olivia Blanchette and Aiydan Sonnentag for modeling kind, responsible, safe, and respectful behaviors.
Liv displays kindness toward her peers on a regular basis. Recently she noticed a classmate having difficulty with writing. She went over to help her classmate and together they brainstormed sentences using the target words. What a great display of "bucket filling"!! Thanks Liv!
Aiydan goes above and beyond to keep our school safe and clean. When he is in the hallway, he will stop and pick up paper towels, wrappers, or clothing that has been left on the floor. Thanks Aiydan! Mrs. Goettl

First Grade Pumpkin Day
Ms. Czyscon’s first grade class learned all about pumpkins with many hands-on activities in the classroom last Friday. The students weighed and measured their pumpkins. They also checked to see if the pumpkins would float and counted their creases and seeds. Thank you to all of our wonderful families for joining us! We loved having you in the classroom!
Destination Imagination
Help is needed to manage a Destination Imagination team of up to 7 students at the 4th, 5th or 6th grade level. Destination Imagination is an extracurricular learning program that encourages students to have fun, focus and frame challenges while incorporating STEM(science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) the arts, and service learning. Participants build on their strengths while learning patience, flexibility, persistence, respect for others and their ideas, and general team-building skills. Teams present their solutions at a tournament. The season typically goes from December through mid-April. Teams meet once a week up until tournament time, in which they need to meet more frequently.
Our district has always had one elementary level team, and we were recently able to have a middle level team for one year. It would be great to be able to have a middle level team again this year, which would consist of six or seven 6th graders.
If you are interested please contact Kris Bejin at bejink@cadott.k12.wi.us or 715-289-3795 extension 1101.
PPT Conferences
Cadott Elementary had a wonderful turnout for out PPT conferences. Just a little over 95% of our parents attended. We still have some conferences scheduled, and are hoping to get even closer to 100%.

Vision Screening News from our School Nurse Jessica Hager
With the help of the Cadott Lions club we were able to screen 430 kids in 4k to 6th grade in 6 hours. Out of those kids 36 are recommended to follow-up with their eye doctors.
The technology that was used was a Welch Allyn Spot Vision Screener. This is an awesome piece of technology that the Cadott Lions were able to borrow from the Shell Lake Lions club for the screening today.
The children that are recommended to see their doctor the machine is able to print a Vision Screening Summary. This summary then will go home with kids so that they can bring to their health care provider. The summary has information such as which eye is causing the child problems and even a possible diagnosis such as an astigmatism. Without the Cadott Lions Club this screening would not have been possible.
I will be working on updating families with these reports and letting teachers know so that children can possibly be moved in the classroom to a closer location while we are working on getting them what they need from the eye doctor.
Thank you Mrs. Hager, Cadott Lions Club, and all the Elementary Staff for making this a great success.

6th Graders Interested in Junior High Wrestling
Dear Parents or Guardians,
Wrestling season is upon us once again. The coaching staff is looking forward to another successful season of Cadott wrestling. I would like to invite your child to participate in junior high wrestling. Practice starts on November 16th at 3:30. In order for students to participate they will need to have a physical, signed athletic code, signed W.I.A.A. form, signed Concussion form and a concussion impact test. These materials can be picked up in the high school office and returned back to the high school office.
Wrestling practices are held from 3:30-5:30 in the high school wrestling room.
Singlets, jump ropes, and head gear are provided by the school. Wrestling shoes can be purchased at Rogans, Scheels, or online. I do have some shoes wrestlers can use, but cannot guarantee I have the correct size. Wrestlers can start the season with regular gym shoes, if needed.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. I would love to talk to you about wrestling and the benefits of the sport.

What Is Love and Logic All About?
The Love and Logic Institute is dedicated to making parenting and teaching fun and rewarding, instead of stressful and chaotic. We provide practical tools and techniques that help adults achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their children. All of our work is based on a psychologically sound parenting and teaching philosophy called Love and Logic.
What Is Love and Logic?
Children learn the best lessons when they're given a task and allowed to make their own choices (and fail) when the cost of failure is still small. Children's failures must be coupled with love and empathy from their parents and teachers.
This practical and straightforward philosophy is backed with 30 years of experience. Parents can apply it immediately to a wide range of situations instead of struggling with difficult counseling procedures
Why Does It Work?
Uses humor, hope, and empathy to build up the adult/child relationship
Emphasizes respect and dignity for both children and adults
Provides real limits in a loving way
Teaches consequences and healthy decision-making
