Dear Catawba Ridge Families,

  • We are preparing our school for a return to 5 days a week on 3/15. We will move to 3 lunches and tables/chairs will be placed down Main St. and around the gym to accommodate extra spacing for meals. We have also added some additional outdoor seating. The updated lunch schedule will be communicated next week.

  • SENIOR PARENTS: Graduation will not take place at Winthrop due to construction at their facility. District Administration is working on an alternate plan.

  • Course requests verification sheets sent home this week. They are due to Guidance by 3/17.
  • Support Special Olympics & get lunch! Donations accepted through the end of the day! Thank you for your support!!!
  • The March Guidance Newsletter is attached. LOTS of important information and links. Please read!
  • Ready 2 Work Testing for Juniors and select Seniors is Tuesday, 3/9.
  • Spring sports are in full swing - come out and support our Copperhead teams!
  • This is a reminder to our Spring Student Athletes that all paperwork must be uploaded to Planet HS and the $100 participation fee is due before the 1st scrimmage. This can be paid through the Pay Fees tab on the website.


  • Miss Catawba Ridge Pageant is 3/25. Ticket information coming soon!
  • Virtual and A/B Day Meals from FMSD Student Nutrition: The Student Nutrition Department offers a meal pick-up option for students enrolled in the Fort Mill Virtual Academy or for A/B students on their E-Learning Days
  • FREE Breakfast & Lunch will continue through the rest of the year.

  • Please continue to stress the importance of Health Protocols and Social Distancing to your students. We want to do what we can to keep our students and staff safe and in school. Please refer to the FMSD COVID webpage for the latest information and protocols.

Mr. Wilson gives Blood, Sweat & (a few) Tears for Special Olympics

Ms. Senesi’s students soaked Mr. Wilson with ice water on Thursday afternoon to celebrate our fundraising goal!!! With your help, we raised over $3K for our Special Olympics participants as well as those throughout South Carolina! We will announce the 2nd block class that raised the most money on Monday! There's still time to donate!!!

Ms. Blocker, Ms. Runyon and Mr. Meltzer are also taking the Polar Plunge on Saturday, 3/6! Stay tuned for some pics from the event!

Guidance: Important Upcoming Dates

March 9 - Ready 2 Work Testing for Juniors and select Seniors. Parents were notified via email 3/3/21.

March 17 – Signed course requests verifications due in Guidance

May 21 – Last day for any course changes

Disability Awareness Month

March is Disability Awareness Month. During lunch, stop by the tables on Main St. to experience different disabilities through various activities and learn about the different disabilities present at our school. T-shirts are also on sale! Click HERE to purchase a shirts designed in-house by our Digital Art & Design students exclusively for Catawba Ridge!

March is Youth Art Month

Our dedicated FMSD visual arts teachers have been working hard to create unique learning experiences for students across our district this year. Each day, students are exploring creative expression, developing artistic techniques, and learning to communicate visually. The artwork displayed was selected and curated to celebrate our visual arts programs. We are so proud of the students who were chosen to represent their school in the 2021 FMSD Virtual Art Show.

Ms. Huddy and her students transplanted the 1st batch of plants into our greenhouse this week! We love having students get their hands dirty and out of the classroom. We’re ready for the next shipment Thursday! Please keep our spring plant sale in mind when planning your spring gardens this year and support your local AgSci programs! More details to come soon!
