Job discrption

Police detectives, unlike police officers, don't wear a uniform, drive patrol cars, or patrol; instead, they spend much of their time compiling information and evidence for the cases they are assigned. They also conduct investigations related to suspected violators of federal, state, or local law to prevent or solve crimes .

Job duties

Police officers protect lives and property.Detectives and criminal investigators, who are sometimes called agents or special agents, gather facts and collect evidence of possible crimes.Detectives are responsible for looking into crimes to determine the causes an perpetrators behind the event.


To be a detective you need to be calm, collected and be able to handle pressure in high stress situations.

education and training

Detectives must have a GED. Some other positions might require a Bachlors degree. For training/ the people need to atleast 20 years old, have a clean criminal record, be phiscally fit, and have a deep understanding of the law.

How does this relate to the module?

Detectives and investagators relates to the forensic station because the detectives go out and find the evidence and then they give it to the forensic specialist to analyze.
