SV Week 11 Update
Fall Break Has Arrived
Thanks for a fantastic first quarter of school, as of today, the door has closed on first quarter and we will start with a new grading period on Wednesday after Fall Break. In an effort to save paper, we are not printing out report cards, but we ask that you review the grades in "Q1" for Powerschool over the next few days.
Remember that tonight is PTSO restaurant night at Papa John's on 83 Ave and Union Hills, be sure to mention that you are with Sierra Verde when you order, and we get a percentage of all sales back to our amazing PTSO.
Our teachers will continue to reach out next week to schedule these conferences during the week of Oct. 18. Oct. 21 & 22 are 12:05 pm release true half days to allow our teachers time to conference with all our parents and guardians. We hope that all of our families enjoy the extended 4-day weekend and travel safe. We look forward to seeing everyone back and refreshed for the start of 2nd quarter on Wednesday.

PTSO Update
One week from today is our first Family Event at school this year! Bingo Night is just around this Friday! Make sure your calendars are marked for Friday, October 15th in the MPR. Earlier this week your child received Bingo Night Flyers and you can now preorder your pizzas ahead of time using this link. Preordering you pizza gives you early access to the MPR to make sure you get the best seat in the house!
We have our donations for Bingo night, but we are also looking for prizes for our upcoming Silent Auction in November. Gift Cards are a great way to help us out. The gift cards can be from any establishment (even ones you’ve received that you won’t use). Restaurants, stores, car services (car washes, oil changes, gas, etc), Nail and Hair Salons, Activity Parks, Movie Theatres, Sporting Events, Golfing, Top Golf, Pottery Painting Places, DIY Board and Brush Painting, the list is endless. Be as creative as you want. We will be grateful for anything that you can donate to help us out. We are also still accepting donations for our Online Auction for the beginning of November.
Please send any donations to school with your child to give to their teacher or drop off in the front office for next month's Silent Auction.
Thank you for all of your support!

See Something? Say Something! Keep our Campus Orderly
Any students who engage in any destructive or devious behavior at SV will be subject to a minimum of a 3-day off-campus suspension. Right now all students are being punished with restricted bathroom access in our 6-8 pod, and we hope this creates a situation where those with knowledge of the few doing the vandalism will speak up and allow us to get back the pride we have in our campus and community.
If any of our students are experiencing bullying, harassment, or having a peer conflict, please advise them to tell a trusted adult on campus so we can intervene accordingly. We always have incident report forms available in our office where students can submit a report for administration to investigate. Students need to report any of these incidents directly to school staff so we can intervene swiftly. If a student needs to contact a parent to report anything, they are always able to come to the office and call home, but they should not be texting or messaging parents from school. The sooner school staff know about an issue, the quicker we can respond and intervene.

SV PBIS Rewards Store
The PBIS Viper Store has opened. Many students have been invited by grade level to redeem their points for prizes. All students can access the Viper Store by logging into their PBISRewards app on their Chromebook. They must be logged in under their student information to access the site. Students can browse the store to check out the items and when their class is invited to shop, they will then be able to redeem their points. Thank you to all who have sent in donations to help fill our store. Keep on sending in needed items, as with so many earning daily incentives, the prizes go quickly!
Incentives/Prizes/Gift Cards Needed:
We are getting ready to open our PBIS Store and would love more student prizes. Students love items such as Pokemon cards, sports trading. cards, lego sets, colorful pencils, specialty markers, bracelets, and small denominations of gift cards (Nintendo/Playstation/XBox/Apple/STEAM/Starbucks/McDonalds/ChickFilA, etc). If your child would love it, then we'd love to offer it in our school store. Donations of all kinds are currently being accepted. We would welcome any gently used items that would be school age appropriate for K-8th grade in addition to gift cards. Thank you in advance for helping us make the most out of the PBIS Rewards program. If you have any of these items you can drop them off at the office anytime.
