STEM Projects on Display
Please join us this week to view STEM student's artwork on display at the Grapevine Gallery! The gallery is located at 636 S. Main St. Students will be presenting their projects when we visit on Wednesday, November 19th from 8:30-11:00a.m. We would love for you to come see these presentations. If you aren't able to come on Wednesday, the gallery will be open from 9:00-5:30 on Tuesday. We are so proud of their hard work!
Field Trips!
Students will be attending TWO field trips this week! All students have turned in permission forms for Tuesday's trip to the Perot Museum. We are still missing several for Wednesday's STEM trip to the Grapevine Gallery. Here are the details for each trip:
Tuesday:
- Travel to Perot from 8:30-2:15
- Bring a sack lunch
- Wear a GMS shirt or a red shirt
- Dress warm we may be eating outside/on the bus
- Travel to Grapevine Gallery from 8:30-11:15
- Wear STEM T-shirt or GMS shirt
- Bring CHARGED device
STEM Student Spotlight
Maille Douglas
I play softball for a select team called E.P.I.C. We practice two times a night for 4 hours and we play lots of tournaments. I have two cats named Skittles and Pixie. When I grow up I want to be a special education teacher. I have a love for special need kids. My favorite color is blue.
Cale Calahan
I like to jump on the trampoline with my friends. I also like to play sports like football, baseball, and basketball. I have two dogs. One is named Dizz and one is named Sarah. I want to be a professional astronomer or a professional baseball player when I grow up. I want to do something that nobody has done yet.
Matthew Bradford
I love to build with Legos. I have a huge Lego collection. I am a member the GMS First Lego League team. I am a Boy Scout and love to go on camp outs with my troop. I have two guinea pigs. Their names are Marshmallow and Giddy. When I grow up I want to design and build really cool things.
Thanksgiving!
As we look ahead to the Thanksgiving Holiday, we wanted to express our gratitude towards all of our STEM families! Thank you for all the support you give your students to be successful. Thank you for providing resources to our classrooms so that we can provide enriching activities at school. We are so blessed to have your students in our rooms each day! We wish each of you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
