Important Information
Reminders:
We had a great Career and Future Stories Week!! We had some amazing speakers come talk to our students about their job, education required, and responsibilities. You will find your child's future story in their portfolios this week at our Portfolio Party that will be held after graduation.
June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-We will be having graduation practice each morning from 8:20-9:20. It is very important your child be at school on these days so they will know what to do at graduation.
June 2nd-Stagecoach has talent!! Our Talent Show will begin at 1:00.
June 3rd-Bouncy houses for 4th grade will be from 10:40-11:10. All students will need to wear or bring socks with them on this day!
4th Grade Graduation will be on Thursday, June 4th at 9:00.
Graduation Festivities and Important Information
8:00-9:00-Students meet in classrooms
Students will need to be in their classrooms at 8:00 for our last minute preparations for the Portfolio Party and to get in line ready to walk.
9:00-10:00-Graduation Ceremony in the cafeteria
Boys-We ask that boys were slacks or nice jeans. They also need to wear a shirt with a collar and the shirt needs to be tucked in. Dress shoes or nice tennis shoes.
Girls-We ask that girls were a dress or a nice capris/slacks outfit. Please make sure the dress meets the Stagecoach dress code with no spaghetti straps or there is a jacket to cover. Nice shoes or sandals.
10:00-11:00-Portfolio Party
After graduation, parents and visitors will be dismissed to go to the gym. Students will have their portfolios to share some of their best writing/reading activities completed throughout the year. They will share their favorite math strand, Science lab, and Social Studies project.
11:00-1:00-End of the Year Party
Students may bring clothes to change into for the End of the Year party.
First Security Bank will be grilling hot dogs and providing chips for our graduates for lunch. Our wonderful PTO will be providing water and Kona Ice for each student. Parents can send store-bought cupcakes, cookies, or other treats for students to enjoy throughout the remainder of the afternoon.
1:30-Early Dismissal
June 3rd, 4th, and 5th are all 1:30 dismissals
Math, Science, and Social Studies
Measurement-We have completed all of our 4 operation assessments. We will continue working on our measurement module this week. We will also work with partners to review many of the skills we have learned throughout the year.
Social Studies- We completed our 6 Regions of Arkansas projects on Friday. The kids did an amazing job on them! They will be hanging in the gym at our Portfolio Party on Thursday for you to see. We will also learn about our state motto and our state seal.
Science-We will complete our final standards this week in Science. We will do a study of the circulatory system, digestive system, and the nervous system. We will focus on the organs in each system and their functions.
Reading, Writing and Word Study
Reading: This week, we will be working on figurative language, such as Alliteration, Idiom, and Personification. We will also continue reading our read aloud "Super Fudge".
Writing: We will be sharing Imaginative Stories and using figurative language in writing.
Word Study: There will not be any word study for the remainder of the year!
