KRMS Principal Update

Parent Update

First quarter report cards were just issued last Friday. If parents need the username and password to access their child's JumpRope grades, please call the main office and they can assist you.

The students have been doing a tremendous job wearing their masks and following the social distancing guidelines.

A gentle reminder for ALL families that have a student enter our buildings, that for each day a Covid self-assessment MUST be done. This is done through PowerSchool. We have recently seen more students coming to school and not having had this completed. Also, for our team Galaxy families, attendance is initially taken in the morning advisory, but also updated if a child misses classes after this. Parents can access their child's attendance through the PowerSchool login. For our Galaxy families, if you need the username, password, and directions, please feel free to reach out to the main office.

I feel fortunate that we are in the building with students and that our remote team is working diligently to provide a strong virtual educational program. In hopes of continuing both, I do ask families to assist us with the items above.

I hope families have a restful Thanksgiving. Below is the schedule if the SAU or state moves our school to a full remote (virtual) learning model. The schedule would not change if the SAU has the students fully in school.

Lastly, as indicated in Superintendent Cuddy-Egbert's recent email and our district website: COVID Hotline 603-581-1615 (available for parents and staff to call any time after usual business hours if student or staff member has tested positive. Information is kept confidential and forwarded to the District so contact tracing can begin).

A Parent's Guide to COVID-19

Please see the attached PDF as a parent reference to check for symptoms and understand when it is okay for your child to return to school. This is the same protocol and expectations for all staff as well.
Big picture

Updated location on Picture Re-Take

Due to accommodating our families, Geskus has offered a retake to happen here on campus for our KRMS students. This IS a CHANGE from our last communication on the retake day.

KRMS PICTURE RETAKE

Monday, Nov. 23rd, 11am-2:30pm

Kingswood Regional Middle School - The Arts Center

The initial information that went out had a variety of locations across the state. Since they were not within a close proximity for us, Geskus will be in the foyer of the Arts Center (here on campus) from 11:00 am - 2:30 pm for retakes. - An email to parents from Geskus should have gone out today.

GWRSD Chromebooks - Technology Assistance

For hybrid students that need a computer at home, we are requesting that your child brings their computer home and to school daily. If in the event that we are not back in school due to a closure, your child would be expected to participate in their education remotely. The Chromebook is an essential tool for 21st century learners and your assistance in helping your child create a routine to bring it back to school and bring it home daily is greatly appreciated.

For technology assistance or support a great GWRSD site to visit is: https://www.gwrsd.org/remote-learning-resources.html

What happens if school closes (weather/Covid/State Mandate/etc)...??

Team Galaxy (Remote) already has a schedule for the week and any closure would not change their schedule and it would be business as usual.

For our hybrid teams, it is a little more complicated. For the majority of situations, we will finish the week as the schedule would have been if children were in school, then the following week (if the closer is longer than 6 days), all students would be online 5 days a week (full-days, with Wednesday still a 1/2 day). Below is the attached schedule that students would be expected to follow (logged in for live instruction) if we are out of the building for these types of situations.

Our KRMS schedule allows our students to not have a change in their teachers or classmates if we do end up not being in school. We would just be blending our cohort A and cohort B groups for the virtual instruction. Attendance during this time is essential and since we most likely can not predict if school will close, students are being requested to take Chromebooks back and forth every day.
