Happy Sunday Pirate Families!
Wow - What an exciting week in the boro'! We have much to celebrate this week as we wrap up March. Congratulations to Mr. Scott and our Wind Ensemble who received a rating of Superior Thursday night at MPA and set a school record for such a high score with the most difficult music selection. On Saturday we had several student groups participate in the Trades Day competition at Coastal Carolina Community College. Zoe Gibson placed 1st and Camden McElroy second in welding, Cayla Staples placed 3rd in culinary and Dominick Muehlhausen placed 3rd in masonry.
Our art students are also making their mark throughout Eastern North Carolina! Thank you to Mrs. Murphy for supporting our art students who will have their work displayed at the Cape Lookout National Seashore Exhibition. Students include Maria Gonzalez, Aubrie LaCroix, Jade Peterson, Joscillynn Moody, Emily Matthews and Mackenzie Koehn! Mrs. Murphy, MacKenzie Koehn and Ava Colvin will also be recognized at the Jacksonville Airport on April 1, 2019 with student artwork displayed in the terminal.
Congratulations also to our baseball, softball and soccer teams for their wins on Tuesday at home against Havelock and our soccer team who brought home another exciting win against New Bern Thursday night. We also hosted our first home lacrosse game and a student bonfire on Friday night.
