FRIENDLY REMINDER
IN THE NEWS...
MID-YEAR PARENT LETTER FORM - POLICIES AND CODE OF CONDUCT REVIEW
THANK YOU TO SEVERAL TEACHERS WHO ARE DOING THEIR DUE DILIGENCE AT COLLECTING THESE FORMS AND KEEPING THEM ON FILE UNTIL THE ENTIRE CLASS IS COLLECTED. It has already proven fortuitous for us as we deal with parent appeals on our end! ;-) Please turn in the forms to JUANITA ASAP.
TELPAS -- RATER TRAINING -- READ THE MANUAL!
Thank you for all staff who attended the TELPAS training session on Thursday. Please recall that you are still responsible for reading over the RATER MANUAL prior to calibrating and prior to collecting and rating writing samples. You must have turned in your OATH too. If you were unable to make it to Thursday's meeting and you are a K-6 teacher, you are required to make-up the session with Rachel. Please make sure to make arrangements.

SPECIAL EVENTS
A kind reminder and request that we make sure we give ample notice for special events. It is not that teachers and staff do not want to support ancillary programs,,, they completely do,,, it's just that they are going above and beyond to plan curriculum and the last minute changes impact their long term plans significantly. This is SIM/STAAR season and we have intense instructional plans in place -- plans that many times entail support staff schedules and/or district support staff coming to support our kids and teachers. On many occasions, we have district staff traveling to our building only to find out that the students they are supporting are not available. In addition, if you would need any audio/visual equipment to support an event or assembly, there is advanced planning necessary (see Elsa) in order to prep for those equipment needs. We understand things can pop up but whenever possible, please plan ahead and make sure all staff are given advanced notice -- anything less than 1 week's notice is considered late.
Submit dates to Carlene ASAP and we can make sure the dates are put in Stallion Star.
SUBMISSIONS TO THE STALLION STAR
Anyone is welcome to submit entries to our weekly staff newsletter. Please email any submission requests to Carlene by the Thursday before publishing.
