Meet the Staff of BCHS

Mrs. Wieland - Principal (AKA Ms. Higgins)

It is hard to believe I am starting my 31st year in education, all in BISD. I spent my first 19 years teaching everything from 3rd to 6th grade. I then moved to administration. I have worked at several schools in Burleson including Frazier, Taylor, Mound, Stribling, and Bransom. I was then given the exciting opportunity to open Burleson Collegiate High School. It has been amazing to work with the students and families on this new adventure! I have one daughter, Hanna, who is a senior at UNT. I got married this summer to my sweet husband, Duane. We love to travel and took a trip to Italy this summer! I am so excited about year 3 at BCHS!

Mrs. Kroeker - Assistant Principal

I am so excited to be joining the staff of BCHS as the Assistant Principal! I am beginning my 13th year in education, my 10th in BISD. My husband, Chad and I, have 2 kids, Ethan and Carley. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary this summer with my dream trip - Hawaii! It was amazing!

Please let me know how I can help you. I am truly blessed and excited to be here.

Mrs. Alley - Counselor

I am the counselor and dual credit adviser. I am available to help you and your student on the journey through college and high school as they chart their path to their future career.

This is my 26th year in education. I have been a counselor for 11 years. I taught Kindergarten, first and second grades for 15 years.

I have been married for 26 years. We have two boys that are both in college. One is finishing his Bachelors degree and the other is finishing his Masters degree.

I'm super excited about this new school year. Every year adding a new grade level is a new adventure and I look forward to building new relationships with our students and parents.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Mrs. Clore - Campus Secretary

This is my first year with BISD. Before joining BCHS, I worked for Joshua ISD for 18+ years. While at JHS, I held several positions including student secretary, counselors secretary, registrar and attendance clerk. I'm excited to be part of Burleson ISD and even more excited to be part of the BCHS family. I can't wait to see what this new journey brings for my family and myself. Family is very important to me. I have a wonderful husband, three terrific sons, and two of the most fabulous grandsons. I love to spend time with them and creating memories.

I have four teaching certifications: Generalist 4-8, ESL, ELAR 4-8, and ELAR 7-12. I graduated this summer with my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Tarleton State University. I love reading, baking, and watching Netflix with my husband and cockapoo Sirius.

Mrs. Bowman

I then spent a year at L.D. Bell High School before taking a job at Kennedale High School, where I taught for 11 years. I have a B.S. in Mathematics from West Texas A&M University (go Buffs!) and a M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction - Math Studies from UTA.

My husband, Ben, is a Physics teacher and coach at Burleson Centennial High School. We have two children, Cooper and Chase. Cooper is in 6th grade at The Realm and Chase is in 3rd grade at Clinkscale.

I am looking forward to another fantastic year at Burleson Collegiate High School! Go Panthers!

Ms. Deakins

I am committed to helping students to know all the options available to them and to reach their individual potential. My class, Pathways to College, is focused on preparing students to have the academic skills to succeed in college, the knowledge of how to select a career and college, and how to graduate from college with manageable debt.

Coach Riley

I teach World History, Sociology, and U.S. History. I am going to begin my 17th year as a teacher. That's right I am old! I have a lovely wife who teaches at Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield. My two boys, Moose and Bo, take up plenty of my time. We love swimming, sports, and pretty much anything outdoors.

Mrs. Samuels

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 14 years. We have two children Jackson, age 8, and a little girl Charlee who is 1. I have been teaching for 10 years, the last 4 working specifically with juniors and seniors to prepare them for college/career readiness. I’m very excited to be a part of BCHS and to get to know the students and parents.

Mrs. Stevens

My name is Laura Stevens, but last year's students knew me as Ms. Horner. On April 14th, I got married. We have one fur child named Bailey who is 12 years old. This is my second year teaching at BCHS and I will be teaching World Geography, World History and Government. I'm looking forward to another great year here at BCHS.

I just moved to Joshua. I have one daughter who will be in 2nd grade. I enjoy fishing and traveling. I have been teaching for 8 years. Throughout my career I have taught biology, chemistry, physics, aquatic science, AP biology, AP Environmental, student council, and cheer. At BCHS, I will be teaching chemistry and physics.

Miss Williams

English was always one of my favorite courses in high school, which is why now I have my Bachelor of the Arts degree in Literature and Technical Writing from UNT, and I am currently working on my Master of the Arts in English (and completed a minor in Communications) from SNHU. I am a total geek, whether it's about Literature, films, comics, or cosplay, I am an equal opportunity nerd.
