November 1st Anti Bullying Presentation
Today we had a school wide presentation entitled "Snowflake" (http://www.snowflakemovie.com/#teaser) . This anti-bullying presentation was sponsored by the SRO program and the Tyngsborough Police Department. WBZ will be here to record the event. Students were reminded that we all come from a different place and have our own gifts and challenges. We will continue to talk about the themes of this presentation as the year goes on.

Project 351
Project 351’s story began in 2011, when former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick sought to celebrate his second inaugural with a focus on young people and community. The concept of Project 351 reflected the Governor’s belief in the Beloved Community and the unlimited potential of young people. His embrace led to the realization of Project 351 as a one-day celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., statewide unity, and youth leadership.
Project 351 believes that inside every young person is a brave, bold leader with dreams of a better world and the skill, passion, and creativity to achieve their vision. When called to serve, this generation responds with an urgency of now. Yet, too often, a young person’s desire to lead isn’t matched with requisite resources, mentors, and platforms.
This untapped potential is our most precious resource and an extraordinary force for good.
Project 351 seeks to develop the next generation of community-first service leaders through customized service learning, hands-on community-building, and values-based leadership training. Annually, Ambassadors from each of the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts are selected by hometown educators for their exemplary ethic of service and the values of kindness, compassion, humility, and gratitude.
This year’s recipient from Tyngsborough Middle School is Brooke Cavanaugh.
Brooke will come back from her experience with Project 351 to Tyngsborough and mobilize us to serve those less fortunate with our own service project. We will look to her leadership to inspire us. Congratulations Brooke.

OUTSIDE FOOD IN THE SCHOOL
Many times students wish to share food with their peers in school. We try to limit this practice as we have students with allergies to be aware of. If you hope to send in food to school for more than your own child, please check with teachers and our nurse, Michelle Riley. Whenever food is prepared for a project or a surprise, there will be need to be an ingredient list for students and staff to observe.
