As we embark on the fifth grading period, I wanted to send out this edition of the Bobcat Weekly! There is new and important information in this edition that should help you navigate the week ahead and beyond successfully:

BMHS Student Wins Area Spelling Bee

This past Monday, 8th grader, Alexis 'Lexi' Klement, competed in and won the area spelling bee representing Benbrook Middle High School. She now will move on to the TCU Regional Spelling Bee on Tuesday, March 7th. We are super proud and wish her well!

Wrestling Wins

Bobcat Wrestling has had a busy few days. It started Saturday 2/4 at the JV District tournament where the boys placed 2nd as a team, and the girls were the DISTRICT 5-5A champions.


Standouts in their separate divisions included:

Charles Hatcher 4th Place

Austin Penland 1st Place

Dominic Nunez 1st Place

Brady Gordon 2nd Place

Lucas Martinez 2nd Place

Jayden Nunez 3rd Place

Tatiana Spencer 1st Place

Katie Loyd 1st Place


Then the varsity competed on Monday 2/6, and exceeded everyone's expectations. Every athlete competed at high level, and every athlete picked up a win. We ended up with 18 Regional Qualifiers, the most ever for Benbrook. The boys finished with a strong 4th place finish (out of 16), and a short-handed girls team finished 3rd.

We are very proud of our Bobcat Wrestlers!!! They competed extremely well at the Region 2-5A wrestling meet on Saturday, February 11th. Adrian Cardenas, Landry Wilkinson, Jason Cortez, Hannah Colvin, Neriah Goulding, and Nancy Trejo had standout performances.

Special Congratulations to our two seniors Calliope Haefner and Cameron Mcguire, who both qualified for State!!

PROM IS COMING!

Hello Bobcats!

Prom 2023 is on its way and we have some information for you:

Theme- Masquerade (you may bring your own mask or one will be provided to your student for free at the door)

When- April 7th from 7pm-10pm (There is NO SCHOOL this day)

Where- Ridglea Country Club

Tickets- $80 (This includes a 3 Course Meal with purchase of ticket).

Forms- If your student is wanting to bring a date from outside of Benbrook High they will need to pick up a form starting Feb 21st from Miss DeVaul in rm 121. Forms will be due Mar 31, 2023

Due to having a 3 course meal, and having to give numbers to the Chef… ALL TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED BY MARCH 31ST. WE WILL NOT SELL TICKETS AFTER THIS DATE.

Seniors, Order Your Caps and Gowns - Time is running out


If you have not already, please order your cap and gown as soon as possible. You can order on-line at www.texasgraduationsupply.com or go to Herff Jones at 9719 Santa Paula Drive, Unit 209 and order in person. Graduation will be here before you know it!

Urgent: Attendance Recovery

We have a limited amount of time for students to recover attendance if they lost credit for a semester 1 class. There are a total of 14 hours remaining that students can attend. All attendance recovery for semester one MUST be completed by February 18th. The calendar of remaining times is below
