Important Message from Dr. Cain
March 17, 2020 ~ To all WSD Administrators
Good Afternoon,
In an effort to provide some clarification for everyone over the next few weeks, please refer to the following:
Administrator Expectations during an Extended School Closure
Please understand this is an evolving situation and plans will be revisited regularly as information changes or becomes available. If administrators have responsibilities that need to be cared for on-site or if they have staff present for whom they have supervisory responsibility, that person should be present at those times.* Please plan to work from home and respond to emails from home.
Week of 3/16-3/20:
Coverage in buildings during the typical school hours (Tuesday-Thursday)
Rotating admin coverage for meal distribution at high schools (Wednesday-Friday)
Routinely checking in on the building; this may be rotated among administrator teams (does not need to be for long periods of time, just regularly checked--we have no security guards working)
Pick up mail and monitor deliveries that are attempted (UPS or FedEx leaving notes on doors).
Week of 3/23-3/27 (Spring Break):
Rotating admin coverage for meal distribution at high schools
Occasional checking in on the building knowing that no 12-month staff nor security guards are present or checking the building; this may be rotated among administrator teams (does not need to be for long periods of time)
Week of 3/30-4/3:
Coverage in buildings during times of continued learning plan pickups (more info to follow)
Rotating admin coverage for meal distribution at high schools
Routinely checking in on the building; this may be rotated among administrator teams
* Custodians are under the direct supervision of Hasan, Heather, and John Blanton. Maintenance is under the direct supervision of Dewayne.
Thank you everyone!
Curtis Cain, Ph.D.
