Celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

On Tuesday, January 17th, high school students visited West Creek Hills Elementary and East Pennsboro Elementary to lead reading activities and discussions with each classroom. This annual activity provides valuable lessons to both our high school and elementary students, discussing the life and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Thank you to all of our students and staff who participated!

Broadway Actor Visits Seussical Cast

From EPAHS Musical Director Eric Mansilla: "After only nine onstage rehearsals, the cast and crew of SEUSSICAL had their first run-through of the show’s first act, and they performed it for a very special guest. Actor Jane Brockman (whose onstage credits include Broadway’s WICKED, and most recently, THE MUSIC MAN starring Hugh Jackman) visited Wednesday afternoon to observe the cast and crew’s early progress.

Brockman, a native of Hershey and friend of director Eric Mansilla, volunteered her time to meet, give feedback, and take questions from the approximately 50 students who make up the cast and crew of the production. Senior Sienna Brooks, who plays The Cat in the Hat, said of Brockman’s visit, “I loved how she spoke with genuine feedback and energy. You could tell she wanted the best for us and our production – and gave us advice for our futures as well.”

Freshman cast member Cici Perella-Carvalhaes, who plays several roles throughout the show, said, “Whenever [Jane] was giving us critique, she was giving us examples of how to use our energy and how to really embody what we’re singing.”

The East Pennsboro Area High School production runs March 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Come see their work for yourself!"

Thank you to Mr. Mansilla and Ms. Brockman for providing this incredible experience for our talented students!
