Report Cards and Missing Work
I will be sending home a Missing Assignment Report with each student today. If your child needs another copy of something, they need to let me know by highlighting or circling it on the missing assignment list and giving it back to me as soon as possible. Otherwise, I don't know exactly what they need copies of. I will get copies of missing assignments to all of the students that turn in Missing Assignment lists to me by Wednesday, March 23rd.
Thank you for your support in this, and please let me know if you have any questions!

Peek at the Week
Reading: In Daily Five we will continue using our packets to help us track our choices and stay organized throughout the week. So far our class has done a great job of putting first things first and being proactive about planning ahead! Students may choose from Read to Self, Work on Writing, Word Work (on Wonderopolis), Read to Someone, and Listen to Reading. Students must do one round of Read to Self every day. Students must choose Work on Writing three times a week.
We are also excited to be starting new reading groups!
This week we will be doing a mini unit on determining the theme of a drama. We will explore how these themes connect to our 7 Habits, and we will get to perform what we learned through Reader's Theatre.
Writing: We will be continuing our creative writing narrative unit. This week we will be writing an imagined narrative of a "silly" class field trip.
Math: This week we will continue our decimals unit. Students are placed in flexible groups for this unit, based on individual learning preferences determined though a pre-assessment we completed last week.
Social Studies: This week we will continue our unit on Native American culture in North Carolina, and exploring how various groups of people have brought change to North Carolina throughout history.
