More about the Team Captain

HI everyone! My name is Kayla Benton. I got involved with AFSP a few years ago when a friend invited me to join them in our community Out of The Darkness Walk. The cause is very close to me. I feel empathy for those dealing with the struggles that make them feel like they are hopeless. I am dedicated to participating in the fight to stop suicide.

I hope you will consider supporting this worthy organization. Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.

Make a donation and receive an entry to win one of 9 raffle prizes from our generous donors! You will receive a raffle entry for each $1 donated.

How can your donation make a difference?

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 39,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.

Net proceeds from the Out of the Darkness Walks benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. AFSP uses the funds to:

  • Fund Research for Suicide Prevention
  • Create and Distribute Education Programs
  • Advocate for Public Policy
  • Support Survivors of Suicide Loss

Thank you!
