What were Plantations?

Plantations were large agricultural estates, during the sixth century they were found on the coast of Brazil where they were used to grow sugar cane.

Why did they have Plantations?

Plantations were used to grow sugar cane that would supply many different places. Indians worked on these plantations and were taught about Christianity. Indians worked the land and taught us about crops while we taught them to be Christian, those who took on Christianity were treated better than those who wouldn't.

Africa was involved to?

Plantations also brought in slaves from Africa, when they first started off they were small. Being small they could manage the work, but as they grew they needed more help with the sugar cane, this caused them to bring in slaves from Africa as well as Indians.
