The Giant Panda


  • Live in Coniferous forests with dense underbrush and bamboo
  • Stand 2-3 ft. tall on all fours
  • Eats mostly bamboo, but occasionally eats rodents and different grasses
  • Their offspring stay with them from 1- 3 years




  • They are listed as endangered in the World Conservation Union's Red List of Threatened Species
  • Only about 1,600 left in the wild
  • 300+ in zoo's and breeding centers ( mostly in china)
