CELEBRATING OUR LITTLE SAINTS
Dear Parents,
Celebrate NAEYC's Week of the Young Child April 6–12!
The NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) has declared the week of April 7th “Week of the Young Child for 2014. This week was set aside to focus public attention on the importance of learning in the early years and the needs of young children and their families. We will celebrate with several special activities designed to appeal to our youngest students. Please take note of the following events and if you have any questions, feel free to contact your child’s teacher.
Monday, April 7th Mix-It-Up Monday with a Special Lunch
Teachers will be in uniform, while the students are treated to a FREE DRESS day! Chick Fil A chicken nuggets will be provided for the students with chips, a drink and a cookie. Your child will not need a lunch that day as we kick off our celebration of Week of the Young Child.
Tuesday, April 8th Special Performance by “Oasis for Children”
Lisa Jastram with “Oasis for Children” will perform her show “Hats On and Away We Go” for the students in the morning. This interactive show highlights many different cultures and is always a hit!
Wednesday, April 9th Oratoricals/Fine Arts Showcase
Students may wear their spirit shirts and jeans while parents are invited to view artwork in the Parish Hall before and after the Oratoricals.
Oratorical times in the classroom:
PreKindergarten 8:30 a.m.
Kindergarten 2:15 p.m.
Thursday, April 10h Carnival Day
Your child will attend our Early Childhood Carnival with fun activities such as popsicles, an obstacle course and bubbles, as well as, a bounce unicorn. Kindergarten will visit the Main Campus for a tour. Along with the carnival, the students will watch a movie and eat a special snack.
Please send a sack lunch for a picnic in the courtyard!!
Friday, April 11th Special Blessing by the Priests at Mass
During Mass, the students will receive a special blessing by the priests. PreK students will visit the Kindergarten classrooms and meet the teachers.
