Who invented the vaccine
- It is hard to determine who invented vaccination. It may have been used in ancient times in China, India or Persia. But we do know that Edward Jenner was the first person which the first recorded vaccination in the western world.

About Edward Jenner
- Dr Edward Jenner pioneered vaccination (against smallpox) at this house and it is said his work has saved more lives than any other man who has ever lived.
- Jenner's development of the first-ever Vaccine eventually led to the eradication of smallpox in 1980 and the development of the Science of Immunology.

When and Where Was The Vaccine Invented
- The Chinese were the first to discover and use a primitive form of vaccination, called variolation. It was carried out as early as the 10th century, and particularly between the 14th and 17th centuries.
