What's ahead?
Special Services in 2016
Ring out the old. Invite in the new. As we say goodbye to one year, we can look forward to the hope and possibilities of another one. What's in store for Special Services?
Alternate Assessment
To Review:
The AASCD Training PowerPoint for the spring 2016 administration is now available on the Alternate Assessment Portal. This PowerPoint PDF contains guidance for test administration, accessibility and accommodations, managing test materials, determining the starting and concluding tasks, entering student scores into the DEI, and more. The video clips that are used in the training are not included in the PDF. All personnel are encouraged to review the PowerPoint in advance of the test window
Air Testing
Andrew Hinkle reported the following at the OAPSA:
Math: Students who are eligible for a calculator based on deficit noted in ETR/IEP in basic math calculations are eligible for the calculator accommodation even during a "Non Calculator Year". He made it clear the accommodation can be used if the student requires the calculator to access the test AND like stated above, has a deficit in basic calculation skills.
Like every year, questions will be asked about the reading accommodation on the ELA test. Please familiarize yourself by reading the following document.
