HAVE AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
The mission of Georgia Cyber Academy is to provide an exemplary individualized and engaging educational experience for all students.
ADVANCED LEARNER PROGRAM @ GCA
The Elementary School Advanced Learner Program serves approximately 500 students at GCA in K-5th grades. The goal of the Advanced Learner Program is to provide an individualized learning experience that addresses the unique needs of a student who is advancing educationally at GCA and requires additional opportunities to meet the educational and emotional needs of this unique population of students. Our flexible model for services enables us to meet the needs of any and all students who demonstrate the need for academic challenge beyond the regular education curriculum whether they are identified as gifted or not.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When corresponding with ALP Coordinator, Rebekah Cooper, please include your student's name and ID in the subject line. This will make for a quicker response time. Thank you!

The Little Island
Target Audience is K-2
“We use this Caldecott Award Winning book to address social-emotional standards for primary gifted students. Not just a social-emotional unit, we answer critical thinking questions, explore literary theme and other ideas, and create a fun island adventure using a grid. Great stuff for our youngest gifted learners: It’s hands-on, requires critical thinking, and good fun.”
This unit has four lessons. The first two lessons are book club discussion format with critical thinking questions. Students will share a comic they create and fill in a graphic organizer. Lessons 3 and 4 will involve projects that extend what they have learned in lessons 1 and 2. Creating a net for a treasure box and making a map using coordinate grids.
Each week you will be given a project to complete before the next class.
We will meet on
Tuesday, November 14th,
