District Wide Art Show
Internet Safety Forum
We are very excited to announce a special event for parents only. On May 29thfrom 6-7:30 at the Nichols Middle School Auditorium, Katie Greer will be doing a special presentation for parents on Internet Safety. Katie Greer is a former Intelligence Analyst for the Massachusetts State Police and the former Internet Safety Coordinator for the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.
Did you know that 25% of children have been exposed to unwanted pornographic material online or that 75% of children are willing to share their personal information about themselves online for exchange of goods and services? Internet safety and kids is a real issue and it’s our responsibility to learn more so we can keep our kids safe. We hope to see you there!

Burkland's Bulletins
Springtime is here and we are in the home stretch. Last week was Earth Day and in that spirit we are going to be taking steps to cut down on the amount of paper that is sent home in our Tuesday Folders with the plan to eventually send most things digitally. Paper is expensive, especially on the scale that we use it! One step we are taking starting now is flyers will only be sent home once and some flyers will only be sent digitally. We have created a section on the main page of our website called “Burkland’s Bulletin Board” which can be found here https://www.middleboro.k12.ma.us/domain/712.
All current flyers will be posted on Burkland's Bulletin Board. We will also send them home through the weekly BEST of Burkland Newsletter/Email. This is just the first step in a process by which we hope to slowly decrease the amount of paper sent home.
If you have any questions or comments about this please let us know!
Attention 5th Grade Parents
