Dear Everitt Families:
I'm sure many of you have received the communication from Mr. Schuh regarding our return to 100% in-person learning. To clarify, all Everitt students have the option to return to learning in-person four days per week on April 5, the Monday just after Spring Break. We have already contacted the families of students who are eligible to return four days per week in what Mr. Schuh described as Phase 1, which begins on March 15. If we have not already reached out to you, your student has not been identified by our MTSS process as requiring and early return to 100% in-person learning in Phase 1.
As we prepare to welcome students four days per week, we want to share with you our plans for CMAS, the annual state standardized assessment that helps us measure student achievement and progress toward state academic standards. Everitt is scheduled to administer CMAS testing from April 20th through April 29th in both morning and afternoon sessions each day. Within that window, students will complete three sessions of English Language Arts and three sessions of Math; 8th graders will also complete three sessions of Science.
All families have the right to opt out of CMAS testing if they feel that is best for their student. If you’d like to opt your child out of testing, please send an email to Mrs. Templeton at Jeena.Templeton@jeffco.k12.co.us expressing this request. Your child’s grades will not be affected by your choice to test or opt out, and our school is not penalized for your decision to opt out if you choose to.
