Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Dear Families,
As I write to you, I am truly amazed at how wonderful the first three days of school have been. We continue to lay the foundation for a positive school year ahead. Our teachers, faculty, and staff continue to model expectations, walk students through routines, and introduce students to topics and themes that will be implemented during their year in school.
Prior to students entering the school, Haynes staff collaborated on preparing classrooms, bulletin boards, and communication with families. This year, our staff met with Dr. Benson, who supported the district's focus:
Connecting Each Other - Priorities on Anti-Racist Strategies and School and Supporting Social-Emotional Learning
At Haynes Elementary, we will be promoting connections and relationships, and building students' social-emotional skills with a focus on coping, self-regulation, and help-seeking skills.
With this, as a school community, we have three goals for our continued growth that will serve as the pillars of our work. We aim to be a school that is Welcoming for All, where there is Learning for All and that is Safe & Accessible for All. Thank you for your supportive partnership in launching yet another school year together.
Sincerely,
Sincerely,
Dr. Nadine Ekstrom
All School Meeting
Prior to the pandemic, Haynes had all-school meetings regularly. These opportunities allow ALL students to attend an assembly together as a community. This year, we are bringing back the spirit of Haynes Hawks and re-establishing our all-school meeting. These will be held every other Monday morning, first thing in the morning. We are excited to return this tradition back to our school.
Picture Day - September 12th
Coffee Pond is our photographer for this event. They are based out of Framingham, and this is their first year here at Haynes Elementary School. We look forward to the experience.
Students will be coming home with picture day packets. Please fill out the forms as you deem appropriate for your family. Teachers will be collecting the forms prior to September 12th. Financial scholarships are available, if needed. If you want to learn more about this need, please reach out directly to Dr. Ekstrom at: nadine_ekstrom@sudbury.k12.ma.us
