DEVELOPING GOOD SCREEN TIME HABITS
Nearly everyone spends some time each day in front of a screen. It is important to have conversations with your child(ren) in order for them to learn and build healthy screen time habits. Here are some suggestions on how to be proactive when it comes to screen time:
Avoid using screen time as a “digital pacifier” at all costs!
Set rules and create a family screen time plan and hang it in a place that is visible to everyone, like the refrigerator or bulletin board.
Screen Time Plans from Common Sense Media:
Brainstorm alternative activities to do inside and outside of the home to participate in instead of screen time. Easy access to this list of alternatives will curtail time on devices.
Follow the same rules that you set for your child(ren) and be a good role model.
NEW ZOOM REQUIREMENT
On February 4th, 2023, Zoom will require all users to update their Zoom client to a minimum version (5.10.3) or higher to function. Afterward, Zoom will require a new minimum version every 3 months (the first weekend of February, May, August, and November). This change is to ensure its users have updated features including enhanced privacy and security.
Zoom Software Quarterly Lifecycle Policy
Upgrading Zoom to the latest version
Zoom Client (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, etc) require version 5.10.3
Chrome OS will require the new PWA app
Student Chromebooks and iPads have already had the updates enforced.
If the device doesn’t have Zoom then submit an OS Service Desk ticket for support:

Remember, you can set up an eWallet—a digital payment account before the Book Fair for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share your child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give kids more books to enjoy.
If your child can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
