Advanced Storytelling Workshop (with Justin Mott)
The goal of this short course is to enhance the photographer’s skills in visual storytelling through photography. Photographers for this course should be advanced and are expected to be proficient using their camera and understanding the basics of photography. We are looking beyond making pretty individual images and toward telling a complete story with images that capture emotion and tell a narrative. The participants will learn how to generate story ideas, pitch, gain access, shoot, edit, reshoot, and sequence.
A secondary goal of this workshop is to give local photographers the confidence to compete with foreign photographers in the same market and encourage them to tell stories about their own countries for foreign markets. For this reason we will include a series of small talks on the business of being a professional photographer.
