Wallace Weekly

December 14th - December 18th

Weekly Recap

Happy Five Days Left for this semester!!

Next week promises to be a very busy week carrying out many Wallace traditions….Holiday Sing-a-Long, class parties, and Milk & Cookies. Don’t forget semester awards and the final Enrichment Cluster/Enrichment Cluster Product Fair. Couple the above with unit tests, report cards, and a classroom (mainly) full of excited, rowdy students and you realize not only will it be a busy week, but a tiring one as well!

We realize the schedule will be off because of assemblies, but we want you to find a good balance…..quality instruction and some time to build holiday memories with your students. No one can survive with a week of fun holiday crafts and games, but we also can’t ignore the fact that the holidays are right around the corner.

So you have permission to make time for both. Most of all, take some time for yourself….. to breathe, get things checked off your list for work, so you can leave next Friday and be OFF for the break! You deserve it!

Feedback on the drills will come on Monday

Luther is stopping by on Monday to answer all of my questions about the drills. I will send out feedback after speaking with him.

Spotlight on...

Taffetta & Emily Jarvis had so many great things to say about the classes they visited on Thursday...

  • · During Sofia’s math lesson, students were using their bodies to figure out the difference between perimeter and area.

  • · During Christina’s math lesson, students were analyzing area problems and creating statements about them using math vocabulary.

  • · Students in Kelsey’s class did an awesome job using a revising technique she learned in her Abydos training.

  • · Chelsey used a great math app to challenge her higher level students and is excited about station rotations.

Yeah for Flipped Faculty Meetings!

Thank you for your participation and feedback on the Flipped Faculty Meeting! I have really enjoyed reading your comments. Thank you so much Ashley, Camille, Maddie, Cindy, Maggie, Kelly, and Tammy! I know that a lot of work went into putting this together, and it turned out great! It was informative, engaging, purposeful, and it did not require too much time on the recipients' part. AWESOME JOB!
