Roadrunner Report
Monroe May Newsletter by Ms. Benitez, Principal
Here's the lastest!
We've had our upgraded technology for a couple of weeks now. Every grade level has at least a cart full (27 devices) to use with students, as well as, a couple of additional laptops for students in the classroom. This is made possible, thanks to the Northside Bond of 2018. I am awaiting news as to when our security lobby will be added, as soon as I get the date, I will announce it here and a at a PTA meeting.
Progress Reports will go home on February 22nd. Please be sure to check your voicemail and email just in case your child's teacher needs to meet with you. We are working hard to ensure we provide the support each child needs to be successful, and your input is valuable. Attendance plays a huge role in student success. We need kids here so they get every learning opportunity possible.
As I mentioned, we have a lot of events coming up. The Roadrunner Romp (March 23rd) is our festival sponsored by PTA. We need volunteers to help with booths, serving food, and other areas. We are also looking for board members for the 2019-2020 school year. Our PTA does an excellent job of providing resources for our students' success. You can be a part of that success! Be sure to contact mayelempta@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering or being a part of the PTA board.
Be a Watch D.O.G.!
We'd like to have more father-figures volunteer for our WATCH D.O.G.S program. You can volunteer for a half day or a full day. We have an easy schedule for you to follow which includes two brief visits to volunteer in your child's classroom. Even a half day can make a big impact on our students. maywatchdog@gmail.com
