Teach, LOVE, Inspire
Cool Cats Update
Week of October 9
Monday Motivation
Education is like a passport, opening many doors for you and your students.
Educating your mind is a journey, not a destination. We never stop learning.
There’s nothing anyone can do to prevent you from reaching your goals and
your potential. The challenge is for you to identify your dream, develop the
skills to get there, and exhibit character and leadership along the way. Just like
you, every student in your classroom has the potential to succeed. Inside each
student is the potential to be a doctor, lawyer, teacher, actor, or inventor. It
takes great teachers to unlock that potential. Our goal as educators is to build
the next generation of leaders. High quality teaching is vital to student success.
Continue to learn and grow this year in your own career so you can create a
successful path for our students.
This Week's Reminders
Anna and I will continue to do our walkthroughs together.
Jennifer Love will be with us on Tuesday during your planning time to lead you & your team in Writing Data Talks. Please bring your computer so that you have access to your writing data. If you have writing data in another format, please bring that too.
Severe weather drill is scheduled for Wednesday.
Team leads have a meeting Tuesday at 3:30 in the library.
There is a CEIC meeting on Wednesday at 4:00. We will be in the conference room.
Liz will be providing a CPR/AED training Thursday at 3:30 for those who volunteered or who are in need. Everyone else.... we do NOT have a meeting. :)
There is a FACT meeting on Thursday at 4:30.
Fossil Ridge High School Homecoming Parade
Anna and I along with about 10 honor council kids are participating in the Fossil Ridge Homecoming Parade on Tuesday, October 10th. I am reaching out to everyone in hopes that we can have additional teachers there to walk with us. I am also hoping that someone might consider being BAXTER the BOBCAT. Anna will be driving her old antique car so Baxter could walk part of the way and then hop in the front seat too.
We are meeting at Chisholm Trail Intermediate at 5:00 pm. The parade is set to start at 6:00 and will probably take about 30 – 45 minutes.
Trunk or Treat
PTA is hosting a Trunk or Treat and fun night on October 20th, 6pm-7:30pm.
We will hopefully have 10-15 decorated trunks that students can enjoy visiting and collecting treats from. We currently have a few local businesses, a scout group, the co-curr team, the administration team and some parents all hosting a trunk. We would like to formally extend that invitation to all the staff at Sunset Valley! Sign up requirements: a decorated trunk (kid friendly) someone to man it, and candy/treats to hand out.
We will also have games, face painting, a bounce house, crafts, a fancy dress competition, best decorated Trunk competition, and food available to purchase, at the event.
If you would like to host a Trunk or donate candy/treats, please email PTA at sunsetpta23@gmail.com
