Blanket ‘em with ❤️

As part of our continued community service project, we will provide blankets to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital.

Imagine the comfort a unique blanket brings to a child hospitalized and the added joy that it is theirs to keep. At our February 2nd meeting, we set a goal to deliver 100 blankets to the Child Life Program in March.

Here is how you can help:

  • Donate soft fleecy fabric at least one yard or more in length that can be used to make a blanket.
  • Donate gift cards from Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, or Joann Fabrics and we will do the fabric shopping for you.
  • Donate store-bought fleece blankets from Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, and other stores.
  • Knitting or crocheting more your thing? We will happily accept these donated special handmade blankets also.
  • Bring these donations to our meeting on March 2nd.
  • And finally, plan to donate an hour or two of your time on the morning of March 4 between 9 am and noon at the Columbia Place Mall meeting room as we work together over coffee and danishes to make these unique special blankets.

This project will warm the bodies of our children as well as our hearts!

We can exceed our goal if every member commits to at least one blanket!!

Fundraising Corner Update

Hey everyone, thank you so much on behalf of the Fundraising Committee for all you have done to support. Here is a list of our accomplishments so far this year.

Our Raffles we’ve had at our RCAEOP Meetings:

September $83.00

October $52.00

November $83.00

December: We had our Holiday Party where we had a 50/50 and made $50.00 and we made $309.75 for Wrapping Gifts at Books-A-Million

January $86.00

February T-shirt fundraiser amount will be announced at our March meeting.

At our RCAEOP Meeting in January, I let everyone know that we only had enough money for

one scholarship and have $336.00 so far for our second (2nd) scholarship. Our goal each year is to give three (3).

We decided to take donations since a lot of members want to contribute but do not have the time to give. So far we have $160.00 in DONATIONS. As of today, we have a total of $823.75 we only need $176.25 more dollars for our second scholarship.

If you would like to make a donation please log onto our RCAEOP Website to do so.

Our fundraisers for the next few months are:

February – Coin Drive (we will collect coins at our March meeting)

March – Tennis Shoes, they are only accepting name-brand tennis shoes (we will continue to collect them at our March & April meetings)

April – 50/50

Thank you again, MaryBeth Gawrys, CEOE

Mindfulness in the Workplace

We live in a beautiful world. As our society advances and evolves we have the chance to see incredible growth individually, in those around us, and in our community. With this, however, comes an increase in tension, stress, and more challenging situations to navigate through.

Mindful meditation in the workplace has been proven to improve work performance, personal relationships, and health. Just 5 minutes of deep breathing, reflection, and tension release can work to decrease stress and increase overall productivity.

There are many great videos and audio out there to try. The following button below is 5 minute one brought to you by Blocker Yoga.
