Prayer of the week
Father! You have given them to me, and I want them to be with me where I am, so that they may see my glory, the glory you gave me; for you loved me before the world was made. John 17:24, TEV
Lord our God, we thank you that you have revealed your glory in your Son Jesus Christ. We thank you that today we can still see and feel the glorious grace which streams out from Jesus Christ in his victory over the world, the powerful help which benefits all those who find faith. Grant that a further glory may be revealed, faith dwelling in the hearts of all people, faith that can conquer all the need and suffering on earth, faith that is the power to look to you, to become inwardly quiet in you, and to hope in you at all times. Then your help will come quickly, more quickly than we can imagine. It will come on us unawares, for the Savior has said, “See, I shall come quickly.” We want to hope and believe and trust till the end. Amen.
A word from the Principal
I can't get over how quickly this school year has gone by! It has been such a pleasure getting to know all of you and working in such a beautiful school community. All our students, teachers and staff have worked so hard throughout the year, I truly feel blessed to be working at École Père Kenneth Kearns Catholic School and to be part of such an amazing school community.
We are saddened to say goodbye to Mme Hayden who has accepted a new challenge at St-Luke's school, and also to Mme Manon and Mme Joeanne who have so seamlessly filled in for Mme Sarah during her maternity leave. Yes, we have so much to be thankful for and to look forward to next year! Work on the modernization of the school should be starting in early July as well as the installation of the new playground. Our school secretary, Mme Sarah, will be coming back from her maternity leave in September, Mme Marie will be back from hers in November and Mme Desfossés will be back with us in early February. Quite a bit of work on the school is scheduled to take place during the summer months, so things will probably look a bit different when we come back from holidays. We should see some construction going on at the back of the school on what will be our new gym, and some plywood wall inside the school to protect us from the areas that will be under construction, and the ceiling tiles might have already been removed here and there to allow the electricians to do their work in the evening. We might also see a whole new parking lot at the front of the school and fencing to keep everyone away from the construction happening on the exterior of the school. Everyone involved in this project has the safety of the children at the utmost importance and all precautions will be taken to ensure that the children and staff are safe throughout this project. Please look for signs directing trafic around the area upon your return as it is possible that the parking lot will be accessed through the north entrance going south.
To all ÉPK families, old and new, our staff members and myself would like to wish a wonderful summer filled with joy, quality family time, fun and lots of rest.
May God bless your all,
Mme Lafrance
Our playground planning parent group is proud to share a sneak peak of the new playground that is scheduled to be built this summer. What a fabulous job they did! It is so exciting!!!
What to expect this week:

June 27: Last day of school for all students
June 28: Last day of school for all staff
Congratulations ESC AM class! See you in grade 1!
We have new builders in the school! Look at our hard working gr.1 kids!
Thumbs up to our Gr.2E students!
For the last couple of months the grade 2E class has worked hard at home to build book reports and now they have been presenting them in class. None are the same but all are amazing. A variety of presenting options were used such as: word search, crossword puzzle, diorama with created paper characters or clay characters, mobile with paper characters or toys, clay characters on their own, using objects from home (fly swatter) or their own toys (stuffy) to describe actions in the book. Robert Munsch was the favourite author but many popular and unpopular books were used. I’m very proud of them all!
