A Message from the Principal
Chapman Families,
Chapman fall picture day is this Tuesday. Please see information below for how to place your order online. All students will have their individual picture taken for our school yearbook. All club advisors will be contacting families this week if your student will be participating in a club. Clubs have been filled in the order of returned permission forms.
This week Chapman will be participating in Start With Hello Week. In every school and in every community, there are young people who suffer silently because they feel left out, alone or invisible. Social isolation is a growing epidemic in the United States and within our schools.
Start With Hello teaches students to recognize students who are feeling left out, alone, or invisible. In doing so, our students are able to help these students feel more included and involved in school. The first step to making a new friend is to Start With Hello.
Mr. Biehl will be going into each classroom in the month of September to further educate students on the importance of inclusion and empathy in our school and community.
Join in for Start With Hello Spirit Week:
MONDAY: Say Hello Day - Wear green and say hello to someone new!
TUESDAY: Fall School Picture Day - Smile!
WEDNESDAY: One School, One Team - Wear your favorite team jersey, uniform, or Strongsville gear
THURSDAY: Brighten Someone’s Day - Wear bright/neon colors, hats, and sunglasses
FRIDAY: Don’t Sleep on Being a Good Friend - Wear your pajamas or comfy clothes
This past week students received 97 Individual PRIDE Shoutouts and 30 Class PRIDE Shoutouts! Check out which expectation students are being recognized for in our data breakdown below.
Although it wasn't a win for the Browns, I hope that your family enjoyed the gorgeous weather we had this weekend.
Yours in partnership,
Mrs. Harrell
Staff Spotlight: Chapman Monitors
Shout out to our amazing monitors Mrs. DeBlock, Mrs. Fratus, Mrs. Overton, Mrs. Silvis and Mrs. Young who supervise our students during their lunch and recess periods. This past week students took a field trip to the cafeteria to review PRIDE expectations with our monitors. Students practiced appropriate voice levels, how to ask for help and how to clean up. Showing PRIDE in the cafeteria makes the lunch period safe and enjoyable for all of our students.
