SENIOR GOOGLE CLASSROOM

Attention Seniors. In your graduating Google classroom, there are scholarships posted. Please check out the scholarships with upcoming deadlines. These are posted under the topics October Scholarship deadlines and November scholarship deadlines.

All of the scholarships currently listed are valued in thousands of dollars. One is even up to $200,000 and most scholarships are offering more than an award.

Do not wait until the night before the deadline as you may need recommendation letters and it is only appropriate to give someone a 2-week window to write you a recommendation letter.

WHY THE HIVE

Why the Hive is written by Mr. Arbuckle and it features one student a week. The student being featured exemplifies our Yellow Jacket Character Traits and demonstrates a passion for our #ONEHIVE community. This week our Why The Hive features AARON MILLER!!!

K-5 BREAKFAST PROGRAM FEATURED IN A NATIONAL BLOG

CONCORD ROBOTICS IS FILLING UP

It looks to be another successful robotics season at Concord. Tuesday night the K-3 teams began their season with a big crowd. The four teams will have 6-7 kids each which puts the total number of team members at just under 30 which is very impressive. The 4th-6th grade teams have 34 students and the 7th-8th grade teams have 38 student members. Not to mention, our Jr. Jacket program will start its second season of integrating design and engineering with Legos into its class curriculum. All four levels of robotics are leading to growth at the high school. The competition season begins in January, but the team looks to have doubled its numbers this year. I can't wait to see what they build this year!!

PRESCHOOL UPDATE

WE ARE 99.9% SURE WE WILL HAVE OUR FIRST GSRP CLASS ON OCTOBER 18TH!! We have one final inspection on October 10th and if all goes well we should start GSRP on Tuesday, October 18th.

Right now, we plan to open a GSRP preschool Monday-Thursday and Latch Key (after-school care) Monday-Friday (after-school care). We will have a tuition program on Fridays for our GSRP students beginning Friday, November 4th.

Families that have registered for GSRP should be hearing from either myself or JCISD staff next week.
