The Club Life
Research says that students that are connected to school, outside of the academics, do better than their peers who only have one school connection.
Whatever you love doing outside of school, you could pass it along to our cubs! Many of our students share the same passion for other things like you do. If you would like to start an after school club please see Mr. Lopez.

ESL
Beginner ESL
Beginner ESL classes are focusing a lot on vocabulary development. Mrs. Nawab has been reviewing basic vocabulary that students will need to communicate inside and outside of school. Students have also been focusing on conversational phrases. Mrs. Nawab provides students multiple opportunities for students to practice speaking. Not only are students learning new vocabulary, but they are also focusing on using pronouns. Students have also just started learning about verb tenses. Currently they are writing sentences using picture prompts provided by Mrs. Nawab.
Intermediate ESL
In our intermediate ESL sections, students just finished up reviewing the different reading genres. Now they are starting their first unit, Imagine the Possibilities, where they will they will explore the guiding question: How powerful is a good idea? This unit takes a look at text organization, specifically focusing on problem and solution. Another major focus of the unit is on words parts. Students will explore suffixes and prefixes. Students have also started prewriting their first expository essay. Mrs. Ordonez and Ms. Momin have done a great job modeling how to use thinking maps to plan their writing.
