Manitou Springs Middle School
September 2nd, 2022
Dear Families,
We had so much fun learning and celebrating this week! On Thursday, we began Enrichment classes. Students are able to learn in fun and creative ways in classes like American Sign Language, Crafting, Creative Writing, Hiking, Origami, and Music Ensemble, to name a few. Students have an opportunity to try a new Enrichment every 6 weeks. We capped the week off with a Pep Rally on Thursday afternoon. Have a wonderful 3 day weekend!
Sincerely,
Mr. Cady
Principal

Safety Corner
Hello Mustang Family!
We are so proud of the students and staff for successfully completing the first fire drill of the school year! We will continue to refine our processes as the year progresses.
Speaking of refining processes...We know that anything parking-related in Manitou can be frustrating. This is especially true during drop-off and pick-up times. We can all do our part to make this safer and more efficient by being respectful of other drivers, driving the school-zone speed limit, not lingering in the crosswalks, and paying close attention to pedestrian traffic.
Remember that safety is everyone's responsibility!
If you have any questions/suggestions/concerns about campus safety please feel free to reach out to us!
Thank you,
Janie Anderson, Director of Safety and Security: astrider@mssd14.org

Canvas Parent Accounts:
Did you know you can create an observer account on Canvas? The observer account allows you to keep track of your students classes, grades, and assignments! To create an account, follow the instructions below:
- Navigate to our Canvas Login Page
- Click on "Parent of a Canvas User" in the top right corner
4. Have your student log in to their Canvas account
5. Navigate to "Account" --> "Settings" --> "Pair with Observer"
6. This will generate a pairing code that you can then enter on the parent sign-up page
